Hold dog owners more accountable
I would like to thank Jackie Derdall for showing her injuries. Not that I took any pleasure in seeing what a dog can do to human flesh, but now I have visual proof of what happens when we neglect our pets. I can't imagine the pain she has gone through and the psychological scars of this attack will, I'm sure, last forever.

Wonder Dog stars at Mayfest
Make no mistake: There shouldn't be any shortage of free activities and entertainment highlights at the annual spring extravaganza called Mayfest. But if you're star struck, keep an eye peeled for the celebrity with four paws. Zeke the Wonder Dog, who spends football and basketball seasons entertaining Michigan State University crowds with his Frisbee-snagging flights of fancy, definitely qualifies for the star list. He's so high profile, in fact, that he'll arrive with his own entourage. That will include a group of disc-catching dogs in training, along with a human trainer or two. Zeke will be only one of numerous attractions at Mayfest, hosted by Muskegon Community College.
